The Route
From Bareilly: Bareilly → Haridwar (190 km) → Rishikesh → Rudraprayag → Gaurikund (base camp). Total: approximately 390 km to Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, it is a 16 km trek or helicopter ride to the temple.
2025 Portal Dates
Kedarnath temple typically opens on Akshaya Tritiya (April–May) and closes on Bhai Dooj (November). Check the official Char Dham Devasthanam Board website for exact 2025 dates.
The Trek
16 km from Gaurikund to the temple. Well-maintained paved path. Altitude gain of approximately 1,500m. Average completion: 5–7 hours. Ponies, dolis (palanquins), and helicopter services available from Phata and Guptkashi.
Cab Tips
Book an Innova or SUV — the Gaurikund road has steep stretches and occasional rock debris. Hatchbacks and sedans struggle beyond Rudraprayag in peak season. Our drivers are familiar with all pilgrimage routes and resting points.
